Tozer, The Pursuit of God, Chapter 4

Posted by Steve Simpson on 24 Sep 2007 | Tagged as: Uncategorized |

I believe I read that Edwin Louis Cole said that manhood was synonomous with Christ likeness.

What Tozer wrote:
To most people, God is an inference, not a reality. He is a deduction from evidence they consider adequate, but personally unknown to the individual… To many others, God is but an ideal, another name for goodness, or beauty, or truth… The possibility of intimate acquaintance with him has not entered their minds…

You can easily turn many of Tozer’s works into “Cole-isms”:
To most people, manhood is an inference, not a reality. It is a deduction from evidence presented, but personally unknown to the man… To many other men, manhood is but an ideal, another name for goodness, or beauty, or truth. The possibility of intimate acquaintance with manhood has not entered there minds…

Want to be a man? Read The Pursuit of God as a “Cole-ite”
